DraftKings Xfinity NASCAR DFS – Kansas City Lottery 300 – October 17, 2020
Harrison Burton – DK: $10,200 – Starting 18th
When it all comes down to it, Burton is going to offer us the highest ceiling on this slate from his starting position as he is starting way back in 18th. There is a price increase to reflect that, but Burton has quietly been one of the best Xfinity drivers on the circuit this year with 19 top tens in 29 races and an average finish of eleventh. Burton finished this race in third back in mid-July from the fifth starting spot and he also led eight laps while having 31 of the fastest. Burton is still an 11-1 favorite to win this race, which are better odds than 12 of the guys starting ahead of him which reflects that Vegas doesn’t see the 18th spot as a deterrent. With that in mind, Burton is my favorite high priced point per dollar play on the slate.
Austin Hill – DK: $7,700 – Starting 29th
Hill is a bit of a volatile driver but he has had more positive results than negative on the season. There has been a bit of bad luck with Hill over the last few races as he has been caught up in wrecks, but we need to remember this is mostly a truck driver who dabbles in the Xfinity series. The Truck results are way better than the Xfinity, but it shows the talent is there to compete. Hill has run seven races on the Xfinity stage this year with only one top-ten finish and an average finish of 25th. However, at the truck level, this is one of Hill’s best tracks with a career average finish of 5.75 over four races. Over those four races he has led a lap in three of them and led 65 during his July 2020 victory. There is a risk here, but the 29th starting position for a guy running a confident track could actually go under the radar and I am fine with risking this. There has not been a middle ground for Hill at this level, it is usually an under 10 finish or an over 40. This is a fringe core play and maybe could be labeled as my favorite tournament play instead.
